Translation studies does not propose that we should translate everything word-for-word or only deliver the spirit of the original. Some expressions are just unique to the cultures in which they were coined and gained value. For this reason, we focus not only on translatable expression but also on the untranslatable. Our project as members of ELT community is therefore to create a glossary of untranslatables of Turkish language cooperatively building on it through time.
